A duvet is basically a comforter and a duvet cover is just a cover to go over it. I personally love having the duvet and the duvet cover because you can wash the cover easily. It doesn’t take up the whole washer like a comforter would. Get the duvet, your mom doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
We have a duvet cover. We stuff a blanket into it for the winter months. Really quite warm. They are used just like a bedcover. Just google duvet cover and see what comes up.

It’s a cover that you can use over your existing comforter.. When it gets dirty is very easy to launder. I have one over my feather down comforter… I LOVE that I can have several duvet covers and change them out whenever I want.. They take up much less space than a regular comforter would…. Your mom doesn’t know what she’s talking about, unless the one that you saw is “DRY CLEAN ONLY:

having a duvet cover is a good idea, it can keep your comforter clean and all you need to do is to wash the duvet cover but not the comforter, much easier. When you buy the duvet cover, it usually comes with matching shams, will make the look of your bed really nice.
